As long as there was a man, there was a need for food, a good food.  These days there is a need for quality organic food.  There was and is the need for the food of high quality, with the taste of nature.  Man seeks the taste not altered by the mankind.

In the Adriatic Sea, at the piece of Dubrovnik coast, there is a piece of undisturbed nature – Island Mljet.  One of the Croatian National Parks secluded in its beauty.  It is to be preserved for generations to come; to be enjoyed and cherished for its pristine beauty and the crystal clear ocean that surrounds it.  It is not well known that the water quality of the Adriatic Sea is measured and compared to the samples taken outside this island.        
 
On Mljet you will easily be overwhelmed by nature’s serenity and beauty. You can experience the heart beat of the life itself. No wonder that one of the Greek Half Gods decided to stay there for a while. You still can visit Ulysses cave and get in touch with ancient history.

In one of the bays of Mljet you will also find our fish farm. Strategically located at the bay that is rich with plankton and minerals; where the ocean stream constantly brings clean and healthy sea water.  Riba Mljet d.o.o. decided to here grow the fish and at the same time to respect the nature.

We made sure that the fish has plenty of room to swim and that is not over-populated into the small and narrow cages. Besides the food provided by Mother Nature, we decided to feed our fish with the best organic food available on the world markets. We also decided not to feed our fish with unnecessary medications or antibiotic laced food.

We decided to be patient and let the fish grow as it is planned by nature. Only when fish is of the right size, making sure that it is healthy and of the best quality, we release it to the market to be the consumers healthy meal.

We are proud to be the first Croatian farm certified by Naturland (Germany) as Organic Fish Farm.  We owe this distinction to hard work laced with love and respect towards nature.
It is for good reasons that the slogan off of Riba Mljet d.o.o. is: “Božanska priroda iz mora”; In English: “Divine nature from the sea”. Our priority was and is to bring quality and healthy fish to the market.  Once you tried our fish you will understand what we accomplished and we are sure you will taste the nature.  Now - like they say it in Croatia:   “Dobar Tek” – “Enjoy your meal!”
